PHATSO was created by recording artist, producer and engineer Mahmood Khan.

Mahmood has spent more than 35 years making records across the USA, Pakistan, India and Australia.

Do I need to know how plugins are made?

No. You bring the sound and production knowledge. PHATSO handles the software-development side.

Do I need a fully formed plugin idea?

No. Sometimes the best starting point is simply showing us something you do repeatedly in sessions.

Is development free?

No. Signature plugin projects involve a modest upfront launch/development fee plus an agreed revenue share.

Why revenue share?

It keeps the producer's upfront cost lower than a traditional full custom-development arrangement and means PHATSO participates in the success of the product.

Does PHATSO own my name or brand?

No. The producer keeps ownership of their own name, trademarks, likeness and brand. Product-specific rights are defined in the partnership agreement.

Can the plugin use my face or name?

Potentially, yes, subject to the agreed product branding and rights.

Can we create more than one plugin?

Yes. But start with one product worth making.

Do you accept everybody?

No. Projects are selected based on creative fit, technical feasibility, audience and commercial potential.

Current PHATSO capability is macOS AU and VST3.
